Father-son duo among five held for girl's murder in Gzb

Ghaziabad: The Crime Branch of Ghaziabad police, on Sunday, arrested five people including a father-son duo, in connection with the murder of a minor girl from Modi nagar area of Ghaziabad around five months ago.
Police said on Monday the father-son duo planned the conspiracy to get rid of the girl, as she was forcing him to marry her. According to police, the 15-year-old girl had gone missing from her home on December 27 last year.
Her parents had filed a complaint with the police, following which a probe was ordered and the girl was found dead on January 12 in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.
A fresh probe was then launched by the Crime Branch, which busted the case and arrested five persons in connection with the murder.
Police said that the arrested the accused have been identified as Sumit, Sonu Kumar, Ramesh, Rajeev and Aarif, who were picked from different places after Sumit confessed to have planned the conspiracy with his father Ramesh.
"It came to notice that the missing girl was in a relationship with Sumit, who along with his father and other accomplices planned a conspiracy to kill her in order to get rid of her as she was forcing him to marry her," said Vaibhav Krishan, SSP (Ghaziabad).
