Farmers' leader held

Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Tuesday arrested the farmer's leader Manveer Teotia under the charges of kidnapping, dacoity and murder, said police.
According to police, Teotia has been charged under several cases of kidnapping, dacoits and murder. He emerged as a famous farmer's leader after the Bhatta Parsol farmer's protest incident which led to violence due to land acquisition issues in 2011.
"During the protest he was involved leading the riots following which there were several incidents of Dacoits and murder" said a senior police official.
"Following the orders issued from Gautam Buddh Nagar's special court, we made the arrest. The court issued unbailable warrants against his under charges of kidnapping, dacoit and murder" said Farmood Ali, station house officer, Dankaur police station.
"The arrest was made from Dankaur area. A case has been registered against him under IPS sections 147, 394, 364, 308, 325 and 323 in Dankaur police station. The accused will be produced before the court and will be sent to jail" added Ali.
Teotia was also arrested earlier in 2013 by the police but was released from jail Wednesday after 23 months of judicial custody in Dasna jail in Ghaziabad.
