Family, acquaintances shocked after sudden death of jovial doctor in Ggm
Gurugram: Life of an independent, aspirational and a young woman professional cut short. The sudden death of the 29-year-old Dr Sonam came as a shock not only to her family but also to people who knew her from close quarters.
Dr Sonam was an active user of social media and had uploaded various images of her being with her parents and friends. She also used to upload the pictures of her travel and shopping pictures
Despite a failed marriage and claims of physical and mental torture, there was optimism in her to start life afresh and it was her expertise in the field that led her to bag a job in one of the foremost private multispecialty hospitals in Gurugram.
It is important to note that earlier she used to work in All India India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
The shocking fact however showing that she was taking drugs was a reality and highlighted the depression and insecurities of a young woman who otherwise was projected as a young optimism.
According to the law enforcement officials, drugs and syringes were found around her body in large number. It is believed that she may have died due to drug overdose.
65-year-old Onkar Lal, the deceased's father, has alleged that the main cause of his daughter's death was the domestic abuse and mental harassment that was meted out to her by her husband Dr Shikhar More and his family. The complainant has formally registered the complaint against Dr More and his family at a city police station. Charges under Section 306 ( abetment to suicide) have been levelled subsequently against Dr More and his family.
In damming allegations, he has claimed that after the marriage the relationship between the two apparently soured. The deceased's father in his complaint has stated that not only did he beat his daughter repeatedly he also forced her to consume drugs as he was a drug addict. The deceased's said that his daughter was also admitted in AIIMS this April for treatment where various marks were found on her body.
Repeated mental harassment and physical torture led Sonam to leave her husband in June and return to her maternal home in Kota, Rajasthan. The aggrieved father in his statement further claimed that she became more depressed after More's family refused to accept her from thereon and began threatening her.
