Officials of the department revealed that the clinic 'New Hope' was providing fake and spurious medicines to its patients.
Meanwhile, Gurugram Police have arrested the clinic's manager and efforts are on to nab the clinic's owner of the clinic who is on the run.
All the patients rescued from the clinic have been admitted to hospital and their health condition is being monitored. Moreover, all the medicines provided to them have also been seized by officials.
"The raid was carried out after we got a tip-off that there was a fake drug rehabilitation centre functioning in the area. We then coordinated with the district police and conducted a raid. We suspect there are many more fake clinics functioning in and around the city," said an official from the Food and Drug Department.
A reply to a recent RTI application filed by Mohit Khatana had revealed that there are over 224 private clinics being operated by quacks in the city.
Ever since the Haryana government began taking tough measures against quacks and clinics being run by them, such activities have reduced to a large extent.
Recently, the district health department, during a raid in Manesar, arrested a quack for cheating several patients.
