Estonian model held in Ggn for causing ruckus
Gurugram: A male model from Estonia was apprehended by Gurugram Police on Sunday, after a complaint was filed that he consumed liquor and caused ruckus in a residential society in the posh Golf Course Road area.
There were also complaints claiming that he molested a women in the society.
Police said on Monday that the accused, identified as Vladislav Sobolev, works in an advertising agency and has been residing in the city for some time regarding an assignment.
After Sobolev's arrest, cops examined his passport and visa, and found that he was residing in India legally.
"The foreign model has been arrested after there was a complaint in our control room regarding the incident. We arrested him from the society and found that he was in inebriated state. He has confessed his misconduct and apologised for the same," said a senior police official.
This is not for the first time when foreigners have been found to be on the wrong side of the law.
Recently, Gurugram Police had arrested two Nigerian men after they were found to be peddling drugs in pubs and bars in the city. On being arrested, they were found possessing drugs that amounted to Rs five crore.
Last year, a woman from Afghanistan, who was indulging in a sex racket, was arrested by law enforcement officials.
Investigations later revealed that she was posing as an Indian national with a fake Aadhaar card. Simultaneously, various arrests of foreign nationals have revealed a disturbing trend of them having a fake identity cards.
