EOW registers case against realty firm for duping 12 of Rs 5.50 crore
New Delhi: The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered a case against private real estate company and their directors, promoters for cheating.
Police said there are 12 victims and the total amount involved is Rs 5.50 crores. According to police, the case was registered on the complaint of one Dharmendra Deo Mishra and others against one SNG Developers Ltd for project SNG Plaza at Greater Noida.
Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary said that it is alleged they have booked shops in 2005/6 but builder has not got the sale deeds executed till now.
"Mall has been constructed but the alleged company had mortgaged the project land to UCO bank and has failed to take NOC from the bank till now. There are 12 victims and the total amount involved is Rs 5.50 crores," said Addl CP.
The complainant told police that after being lured by the advertisements about the shopping mall, to be known as "SNG Plaza" at Greater Noida, he along with his wife approached the company office in Barakhamba road for enquiring about the project.
"The complainant met three persons (suspects) who claimed themselves as directors and promoters of the company who is developing the project," police said. The complainant later purchased shops.
Police said further as per the terms of the allotment letter and the agreement, the company was to develop and construct the project within 36 months from the date of commencement of construction.
"On the agreed date of possession, it was informed by the company staff that the construction work of the mall is at final stages of completion and the possession will be handed over to him little later," police said.
Complainant further told police that however, even after expiry so many long years, the project is still in its infancy and it is evident that the project has been abandoned by the company.
"The project lacks basic amenities such as electrical wirings, connection false ceiling ducting, power back up, plaster, flooring, walls etc," the complainant told the police. A case under sections 420/406/120 B IPC at EOW police station.
