Eidgah relief camp digitises registration process
New Delhi: The relief camp at Eidgah in Mustafabad has been getting upgraded with every passing day. The latest being the digitisation of all the 15 tents which are set up. An official associated with the Delhi government said, "since there is a large influx of people who keep coming and going, it is being difficult to keep a track of all the victims and visitors. Hence we have digitised the registration process. We now know who is put up in which tent. They are being given bands to identify like, children have been given yellow bands."
Officials who are managing the camp have allotted visiting hours so that people who are living there do not get disturbed all the time. Two female and two male security personnel have also been deployed at the camp.
Post Holi, the Delhi government along with officials from the Delhi Police and local residents will take out a peace march to encourage people to start living in their homes so that the colonies can once again come alive.
An official, refusing to be named, said, "Volunteers from IVN, SMC members, members from the education department will also be part of the peace march. The government will try to maintain external peace through peace marches in which the government has roped in the Peace and Harmony Committee members along with local people and security personnel.
"Apart from maintaining the external peace, the Delhi Government has roped in Councillors from Delhi Commission for Protection Of Child Rights (DCPCR) and other organisations for
children and adults so that they are at peace from within and their fear and trauma is dealt with appropriately," said
the official.
People are being urged to start living in their houses in North-East Delhi. However, those whose houses have burnt down completely and are not in livable conditions will take longer to go back to their homes.
