Ease of doing business: SDMC ranking improves in 2018

New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), the nodal agency for all three MCDs for carrying out the required effective changes under RODB relating to construction permit, has earned a better ranking in World Bank's ease of doing business in 2018. The Corporation has said that this is the highest ever improvement in the ranking by any Municipal Corporation in the world which helped India to record jump of 23 ranks from 100 to 77 whereas the stride in respect of DMCs is of 129 ranks.

This substantial improvement has been possible due to concerted efforts during last three years which helped in reduction in the number of processes, simplification in the application form and preparation of an online common application form, minimization of required number of documents, put an end to interface with the building department and visits to 12 different agencies, elimination in the footfall in the offices, minimization of the cost, drastic reduction in sanction time, online submission of limited documents and fee, self on line status monitoring by the applicants, down loading facility of the sanction copy etc.
