Early morning train service partially hit in Howrah & Sealdah Divisions

Kolkata: The early morning train service of Eastern Railway's Howrah and Sealdah Divisions was partially affected as the bandh supporters either obstructed train movement or threw banana leaves on the overhead wires in different stations across various sections of Sealdah and Howrah Divisions.

In Sealdah Division, normal train service in the Baruipur-Lakshmikantapur section was resumed by 11.00 am, after lifting of obstructions by the bandh supporters and removing the banana leaves from the overhead wires.

In the Sealdah-Budge Budge section, train services were normal. In the Canning section, normal train services resumed by 11.10 am and by 9.00 am in the Sealdah main line section.

Train services were disrupted in the Diamond Harbour section as the bandh supporters had thrown banana leaves on the overhead wires between Hotor and Baruipur at 12.25 pm.

In the Bongaon-Barasat section, banana leaves were thrown on overhead wires between Bira and Duttapukur at 12.26 am. Tower vans were despatched to clear up the overhead wires.

In the Howrah Division, train services were disrupted in many stations across different sections in early morning, which were resumed in different stations by 9.10 am.

Train services remains normal across all the sections of Howrah Division as of now. Train services in Asansol and Malda Divisions were also normal.
