New Delhi: Impressed after visiting the mini-decentralised sewerage treatment plant (STP) and state-of-the-art modern nursery at Lodhi Garden here on Monday, Mohamed Ridouani, Deputy Mayor of Belgian city Leuven, showed keen interest in cooperating with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in various sectors including waste-to-energy conservation and health.
Ridouani was accompanied by Jan Luykx, Ambassador of Belgium to India, and a three-member delegation from Leuven. He held discussions with NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar about capacity building, learning and implementation of best practices, with respect to various projects undertaken by NDMC.
A presentation on various projects under the Smart City project was shown to the delegation. The delegation will on Tuesday visit the skill development centre at Mandir Marg near N P Senior Secondary School and smart public toilet utility on Man Singh Road.
The Council and the City of Leuven had last year signed an agreement on economic and cultural cooperation and exchange of expertise.
