Dy CM launches 'Meri Awaaz' app

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday launched the mobile application "Meri Awaaz" to provide a quick and user-friendly approach for reporting of sexual abuse cases. Manish Sisodia described the application as a milestone towards spreading awareness and empowering children at the same time. The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) organised an event for the launch of 'A Study on Child Rape Victims in Delhi, Smile Clubs, and "Meri Awaaz" Mobile Application'. Priyank Kanoongo (chairperson NCPCR), addressed the gathering while talking about the importance of such studies. Ramesh Negi (chairperson DCPCR) while addressing the gathering talked about how completion of judicial processes which gives a sense of justice to the society isn't enough for the child, there are other needs that have to be satisfied so that the child can be rehabilitated.

Stuti Kacker (former NCPCR chairperson) while addressing the gathering, stressed upon the importance of research and studies related to children to sensitise people and develop a protocol to preserve the needs and priorities of child sexual abuse survivors. DCPCR in collaboration with Samadhan Abhiyan prepared the application.
