DU admission may start from May 1st week
New Delhi: Delhi University registration process for the undergraduate courses likely to start from the May first week, according to an official from capital-based varsity. However, the official also said that the registration for courses, for which admission will be held through an online entrance examination, will possibly be commenced from May 7, 2019.
"The DU was intended to open the registration window for the undergraduate admission just a month earlier, on April 15, which was not feasible for the administration as some changes implement in the admission process, especially changes related to the cutoff," the official said.
The Delhi University's move to approach the CBSE for getting students' marksheets and certificates is to ensure that cases of fake documents can be reduced, officials said.
The official also said that the varsity is looking to rope in forensic experts to check the authenticity of marksheets.
"If we get access to the CBSE database of students, almost 80 per cent of students data will be verified automatically, while we can get the rest of the marksheets and certificates verified from respective boards, thereby ensuring more transparency," he added.
The official further said it will also reduce stress for students who will not have to submit their marksheets during the time of admissions and the numbers of the students will be automatically uploaded by entering the roll number, he added. This is happening for the first time that the DU admission portal will be opened again to update the marks and course of the students, he added.
