Drunk man stabs wife to death

NEW DELHI: A man who was reportedly drunk has stabbed his wife to death in Central Delhi's Anand Parbat area of Delhi.

Delhi Police apprehended the man after the murder was committed. The heinous act took place after a heated argument between the couple.

"A married couple used to live here. After some heated arguments, the husband stabbed his wife and she died. They have a 3-year-old child. The Delhi Police came and arrested him. He was drunk when the police arrested him," said a neighbour, Omdev Kohli.

The incident happened on the intervening night of September 19 and 20.

It is said that the husband identified as Sonu murdered his wife Payal in a fit of rage over some small argument. They have rented the flat some time ago.

Sonu, the accused had a business of motor spare parts and he went into an argument details of which are not known with his wife. She was stabbed using a kitchen knife.

Later, the neighbours heard the shrieks of the victim and found that the husband has murdered his wife.

The victim was lying in a pool of blood when the police reached the spot. The crime team inspected the spot and seized the murder weapon and collected all forensic evidence.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. The man has been arrested and the investigation is on.
