Driver killed as SUV rams into divider in Gurugram

Gurugram: There was one more addition to the spates of deadly accidents in Millennium city Gurugram. In the recent incident, a Toyota Fortuner rammed into a divider at Rajiv Chowk underpass leading to the death of the driver, and leaving his cousin seriously injured. The deceased driver has been identified as Vivek Yadav while the injured has been identified as Rahul.

The crash was so severe that the SUV was completely mangled after the accident. Both the deceased and the victim were in their mid 20's.

After registering the case, the Gurugram police has begun investigations. According to the police, the incident occurred at around 2 am in the wee hours of Monday when the two were returning from Sector-56 to their residence in Civil Lines.

There are claims that the main reason of the crash was overspeeding and loss of control but the law enforcement officials are also looking into the angle of tyre burst of the SUV that could have led to losing of control.

Even after the construction of flovers and underpasses at Rajv Chowk, a large number of deadly accidents are being reported. Last month, a driver and a passenger in the CNG vehicle was completely charred after it was hit from behind by the truck at the Rajiv Chowk flyover.

National Highway not only continues to be the busiest but even the most unsafe route in Gurugram for lakhs of commuters . According to the official information, 215 lives have been lost in just five months.
