Double MBA and BTech held for cheating job seekers
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has arrested a double MBA man and a BTech woman for cheating over 100 people on the pretext of getting jobs from naukri.com.
Two business partners running this racket have been arrested from their office-cum-residence situated in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad after zeroing in on them through technical analysis of information collected from different sources.
One of the business partners is a young woman having a degree of BTech and the other is having a double-MBA with specialisation in HR, Marketing as well as in Tourism. They have been identified as Chetan Soni, a resident of Unnao and Naina Singhal, a resident of Gajroula in Moradabad district. Both of them were arrested from Ghaziabad after the company filed a case against them for maligning their reputation.
During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that they used to work together in 2016 in a consultancy firm in Greater Noida. During that period, they developed a bond of friendship. Both the accused had experience of working in a call centre. In order to earn quick money, they planned to cheat people.
"After that both the accused opened a firm in the name of M/s Strobe Group and registered themselves as a recruiter with Naukri.Com. The name of firm used by the accused is similar to an MNC in the USA. Both the accused bought a similar domain name as naukri.com and lured job seekers to pay around Rs 4,000 to 5,000 in a fraudulently opened account," said DCP South East Chinmoy Biswal.
