'Door-to-door campaign needed to make New Delhi plastic-free'
New Delhi: "Door-to-door campaign must be conducted by Residents Welfare Association and Market Traders Associations for behavioural change in the citizen for making New Delhi a Plastic Free Zone. It is a step towards individual and community wellness in letter and spirit."

"It is high time to reduce, recycle and reuse for the conservation of environment and mitigation of climate change," the MP from New Delhi constituency said.
While interacting with the participants at the programme, NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar stressed on the need to spread the message of civic sense and responsibility among the residents and people visiting the New Delhi area.
He said that the community should participate in the civic body initiatives like zero waste programme, segregation of waste at source, making New Delhi a plastic-free zone, scientific disposal of e-waste, better management of construction and demolition waste and intensive tree plantation programme.
NDMC secretary Rashmi Singh said that while the capital city is beautiful and well-maintained, social capital, ownership and cohesiveness need to be enhanced, both among the resident and its floating population. She also gave a presentation on the theme of "Make New Delhi a Plastic Free Zone".
