Director of company arrested for fraud

New Delhi: A director of a company dealing in the business of eating outlets was arrested for fraud by South East Delhi Police from Rohini.
Police said on Sunday that the accused, identified as Jaivendra Singh Negi, was involved in five criminal cases.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal said that Negi did his graduation from Delhi University, followed by a course of Chartered Engineering.
Subsequently, he joined SMA Tasty Bites Pvt Ltd – a company dealing in eateries of the 'Soya Express' chain of restaurants – as one of its director.
Biswal said that recently, one Sudhir Gupta filed a complaint against the company and its directors, including Negi, under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in Saket Court, alleging that he was persuaded by the company to take franchisee of 'Soya Express'. Gupta claimed he was shown a rosy picture of the company and guaranteed returns.
"The complainant paid Rs 24 lakh as security. After starting the business, none of the directors provided him any type of support as assured by them at the time of taking money from him. Under an MoU executed between the parties, the complainant was given 20 post-date cheques.
"When the complainant presented the said cheques, all were dishonored.," said Biswal.
During investigation, Negi's parents in Rohini were questioned and they said they had debarred him from their property and all social affairs.
However, it was found that Negi occasionally used to meet them secretly, and during one such visit on January 30, police arrested him.
