Diploma holder held in abduction case
New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday said that they have arrested polytechnic diploma holder in a case of abduction for ransom case of a loan commission agent in Mewat area.
The investigating agency said that the accused was previously found involved in the kidnapping-cum-sexual assault case of a minor girl. Police identified the accused as Shamim (24), a native of Nuh in Mewat. He had done a diploma in Polytechnic (Civil Engineering). He was arrested from Jaipur in Rajasthan.
"He came in contact with Haroon, Mazid, Sanir and one Pandit and started calling businessmen or loan commission agents of NCR on one pretext or the other and used to abduct them to obtain ransom money," police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Monika Bharadwaj said that on September 3, a Delhi based loan commission agent was abducted from Gurugram, Haryana where he was called by the accused persons for a loan query. After robbing the victim, accused persons called the family members of the victim and demanded a ransom of Rs10 lakh from them.
They further negotiated the ransom amount and the matter was settled for Rs. 50,000. Out of which, an amount of Rs. 15,000 was deposited in the account of the victim by his family members and the same was withdrawn by the accused persons from an ATM situated in Jhulehra Bazar, Nuh Mewat, Haryana. Just after withdrawing the money, the victim was released by them due to suspicion.
"The Special Staff team later nabbed him from Jaipur where he was hiding. Apart from this case, Shamim is also involved in many such cases with the same modus-operandi and took money from different persons based in Mumbai, Agra, Jaipur and Delhi," said DCP North.
Further, he has also disclosed that he is also involved in the gang rape of a minor girl of Punhana in Nuh.
