Deputy CM hits out at Centre over Services issue
NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the Centre by accusing it of capturing 'services' through high handedness and vowed that the work of the people will be done despite hurdles.
"Dadagiri se Centre ne Services ko japt kar rakha hain (Centre has captured services through high handedness). Why do the Centre, BJP want to keep services in its hand? Because, by threatening IAS officers of transfer and posting, the decisions of the Delhi government can be put on hold," Sisodia said at a press conference here.
The minister alleged that by controlling services, conspiracy is being hatched through the ''back door'' to stop the work of the Aam Aadmi Party-led government and stall all projects.
Sisodia also claimed that some officers came in private and told that there was a lot of pressure to halt the decision of the AAP government.
In a direct attack on the Centre, Sisodia said, "The work of the people will be done. If you try to create hurdles neither the government nor the people will leave you."
Citing various stances where the officer of the concerned department refused to abide by the Ministers order, Sisodia said, "if we had the power of transfer and postings, they would have been removed."
Reiterating the Supreme Court judgement, Sisodia said it had observed that the elected government has the power to take decision.
The Deputy CM said that even in case of ambiguity the Lieutenant Governor has no power of taking a decision, only the file has to be submitted to him.
Later, Sisodia's office also issued a communique, stating, "The Transport Secretary refused to file the appeal in Supreme Court against a Delhi High Court order, which stayed the purchase of 2000 new buses for Delhi. The new buses, once procured, would majorly boost the public transport system of the city. Stalling this process is not only an anti-people but also a clear violation of the Supreme Court order."
It further stated, "The Food Commissioner refused to implement the Door Step Delivery of Ration scheme passed by the Cabinet. He refused it even after he was directed by the Chief Minister."
"The Law Secretary refused the Law Minister's directions on the Delhi government's panel of advocates in Supreme Court and High Court. The government had restored its panel following the July 4 judgement by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court.
"It is a conspiracy to deny the Delhi government from being represented properly in courts by effective lawyers of its choice," the communique further said.
