Delhi records highest virus recovery rate among top 5 states

New Delhi: With 30.05 per cent recovery rate of COVID-19 positive patients, Delhi is at the top position among five states which has highest number of positive cases and even around 8 per cent more than nation's average which is 22.17 per cent as per the data available till Sunday's breakup on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's (MoHFW) website. As far as mortality rate is concerned, Delhi has also the second lowest rate among these states and much lesser than nation's average. Delhi's death percentage is 1.85 while country's cumulative percentage is 3.12.

Latest data available at site till the report was filed, Delhi had recorded 2,918 cases out of which 877 patients had recovered which is the highest among Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat which are in top five states in terms of positive cases and each one has recorded above 2,000 cases. With 2,185 cases, recovery of 518 patients has been done which is 23.70 per cent so far. In MP there are 2,096 cases in which 302 people or 14.40 per cent have recovered. Maharashtra has a total of 8,068 cases till the report was filed out of which 13.33 per cent or 1,076 people has been discharged after detecting Coronavirus. Gujarat has a total number of 3,301 cases and recovery of patient is 313 which is 9.48 per cent so far. Tamil Nadu, Telangana, UP and Andhra Pradesh has cases between 1,000 to 2,000 out of which recovery of Tamil Nadu is highest while UP is lowest. Below them stands J&K, WB and Karnataka that have recorded cases between 500 and 1,000.

In terms of death rate, death rate of Rajasthan is 1.51 per cent, Delhi's is 1.81 per cent, slight higher that the first one, Maharashtra's is 4.23 per cent, Gujarat's is 4.57 per cent and MP's is 4.91 per cent. In Rajsthan 33 people have been died following by 54 in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh is 103, Gujarat 151 and Maharashtra 342 respectively.

According to the health experts, better health infrastructure and timely action among key reasons of recovery and low mortality rate in comparison to the parts. "Here

the authorities had initiated measures as early as possible with best possible health facilities resulted unexpected outcome.

Though number of cases increasing but recovery is increasing accordingly which is a healthy sign," said an expert.
