Delhi Police organises security and soft skills sensitisation programme

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday said that it organized a one-day workshop on security and soft skills sensitization, for Delhi Metro police and CISF officers.

The workshop was inaugurated by Special Commissioner of Police (transport) Praveer Ranjan.

In his address, the Praveer Ranjan stressed upon the aspect that police officers are not only expected to provide security to the commuters of Metro, they should have and also display soft skills such as empathy and compassion, effective communication skills, integrity, active listening, problem-solving and service-oriented approach.

The complainants approaching us to seek assistance must be treated with respect and all possible assistance must be provided to the victims without any delay.

Joint Commissioner of Police (transport) Atul Katiyar stressed that police officers should interact with the commuters of Delhi Metro to understand their concerns. Special attention needs to be given to the concerns of women, children and senior citizens to resolve their grievances on priority.

Jitender Rana, Senior Commandant, CISF emphasized they must ensure that our team is motivated to ensure that the comfort of the commuters is ensured, and soft skills will certainly help in effective communication and interaction with the commuters. Vikram K. Porwal, DCP (Metro) mentioned that police work is like being a jack of all trades with multifarious duties, it requires constant initiative and innovation to improve the police functioning.
