Delhi govt organises mega pension camps across city
NEW DELHI: AAP government's Social Welfare department has started mega pension camp in 11 districts to the aid of the large number of senior citizens, who have been deprived of old age pension, which they used to get from the municipal corporations, for several months. As per the advisory, any citizens, who were earlier getting old age pension from Municipal Corporations of Delhi but could not submit their application, can visit camps organised by Social Welfare Department.
The Delhi government has decided to organise two mega camps in the 11 districts in compliance of the instructions of the Delhi High Court to give last opportunity to all such beneficiaries.
"All such beneficiaries should get their original pension documents as such Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passbook of Aadhar linked bank account , proof of residence of Delhi for a minimum period of five years , caste Certificate and Income Declaration etc," said official of Social Welfare Department.
On the first day, a large number of citizens turned up at respective camps with documents. If the vacancies remained even after the four-day camps on September 7, 8,14 and 15, all MLAs will be instructed to identify eligible citizens in their Assembly Constituency.
