Delhi govt launches Poshan Maah 2019

New Delhi: Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, organized a Poshan Rally to launch Poshan Maah under POSHAN Abhiyaan in Delhi on Monday. Director of DWCD, S B Shashank, inaugurated the Poshan Rally at Bal Sadan, Timarpur, and highlighted the importance of 'Panch Sutra of Poshan Maah' to mobilise the community.

The event was attended by approximately 300 people. Poshan Rally was concluded at DWCD Headquarters, Sewa Kutir Complex, Kingsway Camp, and was proceeded by an inaugural ceremony at DWCD Headquarters.

During the ceremony, the state officials, district officials, field functionaries and Swasth Bharat Preraks present took an oath to be committed in working towards malnutrition–free India.

The Director addressed the audience to announce September as the Poshan Maah and appreciated the hard work of field functionaries. He emphasized on the need to reach out to maximum beneficiaries and mobilize the community during the month to take the POSHAN Abhiyaan forward. Anganwadi workers enthusiastically performed a welcome song, nukkad natak and qawwali to raise the spirits of the field functionaries. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Director, Additional Director and Deputy Director of the Department, who also took to the platform to thank Anganwadi Didis for their dedication.
