'Delhi Assembly Monsoon session from August 6 to 10'

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government on Tuesday decided to convene a five-day Monsoon session of Delhi Assembly starting August 6. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

"The Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly will take place from August 6 to August 10," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

During the five-day session, BJP legislators are likely to attack the AAP dispensation over waterlogging in the national Capital.

Both the AAP and BJP MLAs are expected to corner each other over the Supreme Court verdict on power tussle between the Lieutenant Governor and the Delhi government.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Monsoon session of the Parliament is all set to kick-off, with the Opposition raring to rake up several issues to push the BJP-led Centre to the wall.

One of these issues could be the tussle between LG Anil Baijal and the Delhi government, with AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday raising the issue before Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a meeting of political leaders ahead of Wednesday's session.

He alleged discrimination by the Centre against the Delhi government and hoped that the prime minister will address the issue. "Despite the Supreme Court order, the LG and IAS officers are not letting Delhi government work. Is it our crime that we want to do doorstep delivery of ration, improve schools and health sector," Singh said.
