Ggn landowner pushes 21-year-old tenant to death

A 21-year-old tenant was pushed to death from the fourth-floor balcony of a building allegedly by his landowner and his henchmen.
The incident was reported on Wednesday night from U-block of DLF phase-3. The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Singh Bisht. He hailed from Uttrakhand and was pursuing a hotel management course in Gurugram.
Irked by lack supply of water, generators and also frequent power cuts in his building, Ramesh was trying to mobilise the other tenants to complain against the same to the landowner Satbir Singh.
Angry over this issue Satbir along with 10 men reached the building late night and started beating Ramesh mercilessly. In the fit of rage, the mob then pushed the young student to death from the fourth-floor balcony.
The police have detained two people in the case including the landowner Satbir Singh and have registered the case at DLF Phase-2 police station under section 323 (causing hurt), 148 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 302 ( murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
"It is an unfortunate incident where life of a young student who had come to the city for better future had to pay with his life for raising pertinent issues. We have detained some people in this case and are interrogating to get hold of the culprits involved in the case. We will leave no stone unturned in providing justice to the deceased and his grieving family," said a senior Gurugram cop.
The incident has again raised question over the lack of facilities provided to a large number of labourers, menial workforce, and PG's mostly students by the landowners.
"Most of the landowners do take advantage by not providing enough facilities and charging an exorbitant rent.
High demand and the landowners being locals allow them to get away it," said one such tenant in Gurugram, Pankaj.
