Road rage incident: Youth shot in lower abdomen, accused at large

In an incident of road rage that was reported from Gurugram in the wee hours of Tuesday, a person was shot at following a feud over a vehicle blocking the road.

The incident was reported at around 1 am near Bajghera rail junction.

According to the police, the victim Mahipal who was travelling with two of his colleagues protested against a vehicle blocking the road.

This resulted in a heated altercation between the youths and Mahipal after which he was shot in his lower abdomen. Mahipal is said to be stable at Safdarjung Hospital.
Meanwhile, the case has been registered by Railways police Gurugram under sections of 307 (IPC) and 25.54.59 of the arms act.

However, the people who have been accused of firing gunshots fled from the spot and are at large.

"We are waiting for Mahipal to recover so that we can record his statement.

"In the meantime we have begun our investigation are on the lookout for the people who were involved in the shoot-out incident," said Inspector Mahavir.

A large number of road rage incidents are now being reported from Gurugram where not only citizens but even cops are targeted.

While two incidents were recently reported of SUV trying to run over cops, earlier there have also been incidents where drunken drivers been held for injuring cops when asked to stop.
