Rs 12 lakh looted from cash van, guard shot

In yet another incident of cash van robbery, a guard was shot after he tried to prevent robbery attempt by two bike-borne assailants in North West district' Bhalaswa Dairy on Friday.
The police confirmed that approximately Rs 12 lakh cash has been looted.
The guard is undergoing treatment and police have formed teams to arrest the miscreants.
"The incident was reported at around 4 pm on Friday. There were four people in the cash van and it was looted by two bikers. We have formed several teams to nab the accused," said DCP North West Milind Dumbere.
At around 4 pm, two bikers intercepted the cash van as it halted to fill cash in Bhalaswa Dairy ATM.
Soon, the accused took out pistols and attempted to loot the cash boxes. However, when the guard Manoj resisted the attack, he was shot by the robbers.
The police are now collecting the CCTV footages from the entire stretch to fetch clues on the criminals.
They are also questioning the staff of the cash van for the same.
