The three-year-old girl whose ears were chopped by her father allegedly under the influence of hallucinations has been discharged from the AIIMS and the 35-year-old man has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days on Friday.
The cops have booked under 'attempt to murder' section.
The victim, Bina was discharged from the hospital after she underwent treatment at AIIMS.
She was earlier taken to GTB hospital soon after the incident when after an initial treatment, the doctors referred her to AIIMS.
Meanwhile, the alleged accused, Amrit was produced before the court and was sent to judicial custody.
Amrit said, "I committed the act after 'Voices' in my head directed me to."
His wife informed the police that her husband under the influence of hallucinations had chopped off their daughter's ears.
Initially, the police refused to believe the mother and visited their residence in Tahirpur.
The same story was narrated by Amrit to the cops.
According to Amrit, he heard voices telling him to commit the gruesome act, to which he complied.
Following this, the mother rushed their bleeding daughter to GTB Hospital where she underwent an initial treatment.
But, it has been learnt that Amrit thrashedhis wife when she tried to intervene.
It was only after he used a sharp-edged knife to chop off her ears when the neighbours on hearing the screaming intervened and called the police.
Amrit who hails from Nepal was arrested the same day by the GTB Police in Shahdara district of Delhi.
However, the whole case will come out clear only after a medical examination proves that Amrit suffers from any mental illness or not.
