Special Cell nabs another Chhota Shakeel aide

After the Special Cell arrested an associate belonging to the Chota Shakeel gang a few days ago, the anti-terror unit on Thursday arrested another Shakeel aide from Rani Garden area in Geeta Colony.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Shahbaz Ansari. One .315 bore calibre pistol and two live cartridges have been recovered from him, said cops.
A senior officer from Special Cell told this paper, that the anti-terror unit had been working on several associates belonging to Chota Shakeel gang. After employing technical and manual sources, the unit was able to track Ansari's whereabouts.

A team from the Northern range was deputed to Pushta Road area in Rani Garden around 7:30 pm, as the source had informed them that Ansari would come to the bus stop.
He was arrested 20 minutes later upon identification.

The police have remained tight-lipped about the case and have claimed that they are questioning the accused about information regarding other Shakeel associates.

In the intervening night of June 8-9, Special Cell had nabbed Junaid Chowdhary from Wazirabad road in north-east Delhi.

Even though police officials refused to divulge details of Junaid's target, sources in the Special Cell had claimed that Junaid was supposed to assassinate Pakistan-born Canadian writer Tarek Fatah.
Junaid was supposed to conduct a recce as Tarek was currently not in Delhi and was waiting for the next set of instructions.

The Special Cell reportedly nabbed Junaid after he was found to be in touch with Shakeel over a cell phone monitored by the intelligence agencies.

Junaid was also tasked with the plan to allegedly eliminate Hindu Mahasabha chief Swami Chakrapani.

Chaudhary was reportedly not working alone to carry the hit on high profile targets and the police are now on the look-out for the remaining aides.
