Domestic helper commits suicide after being denied leaves

Depressed over the cancellation of leaves, an 18-year-old domestic help from Bihar allegedly

committed suicide by jumping from the 18th floor of a building on Wednesday, said police.

The deceased, Chunmun was working at in an apartment in RG Residency in Sector 120, Noida.

She wanted to go to her home but her employers denied granting her any leave. Following this, the girl went under depression and took the extreme step.

"The incident took place on Wednesday morning. The girl died on the spot. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, however, the initial investigation revealed that she was not allowed to go home by her employers" said police officials.

"The girl was working in some apartments of the society from past six months. The body has been sent for postmortem and her parents have been informed.

"No case has been registered so far as we have not received any complaint", the police added.

Last month also two domestic help committed suicide by jumping from the building in two separate incidents in Gaur City, Greater Noida.

In one incident, an 18-year-old domestic help committed by jumping from the twelfth floor.

In the second such incident, a 26-years old domestic helper killed herself by jumping from the 24th floor of a building.
