DU sets up its 'Wall of Heroes'

The Delhi University on Friday inaugrated its own 'Wall of Heroes' at its campus following the lines of central government's 'Vidya Veerta Abhiyan' campaign.

DU, Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh K Tyagi and Chief Guest Hari Om Panwar, a renowned poet unveiled nearly 20 feet frame set up on a wall at the varsity's conference center displaying photographs of 21 Param Veer Chakra award winners under the title 'Our Heroes'.

The varsity also paid condolence to all the martyrs. "Today, we are celebrating Holi, Diwali and other festivities because our soldiers with guns are guarding the border and paying tribute to them is the biggest festival. If students can discuss and debate peacefully, it is only because of their sacrifices," said Hari Om Panwar. Several veterans, families of many war heroes, faculty, staff, and students participated in the event.
