Ggn cops nab three, recover 400 kg of Ganja

During a raid, the Crime Branch of Gurugram Police on Wednesday night arrested three people and recovered over 400 kilograms of Ganja (cannabis) from Bilaspur area along National Highway 8.

The cops intercepted the miscreants after seeing them transfer huge gunny bags to a personal vehicle. The truck was hiding the drugs amid the construction material.

The three accused, Sanjay Kumar who hails from Alwar, Aamin and Iqbal from Nuh will be charged under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The kingpin for this operation, identified as Mahesh Aggarwal hailing from Bhiwadi, is yet to be traced.

According to the cops, the main objective was not only to supply these drugs in Gurugram but also in the upcoming areas of Manesar, Bilaspur and Taouru.

This is not for the first time that such a huge haul of drugs have been recovered in the city. Earlier in 2015, in two separate incidents over 200 kilograms and 300 kilograms of Ganja were recovered.

On Tuesday, over 90 kilograms of drugs were also held at Mewat surrounding Gurugram. "Ganja and Sulfa drugs have a huge demand in and around Gurugram," said cops.

"This is a huge success for our team and we hope to capitalise for curbing the deadly drug trade in the city. We will be interrogating the people who have been arrested and in the future course also will try to get hold of other main culprits involved in the drug trade," said Sumit Kuhar DCP (Crime) Gurugram.
