Cops bust inter-state racket led by army deserter

An inter-state gang of robbers led by an army deserter were held by Delhi Police's Crime Branch, who conducted dacoity outside a bank in Okhla Industrial Area on May 25.
According to police, a businessman from Okhla was out to get Rs 22 lakh for wage bill. The man along with his cousin came out of the bank upon which three armed motorcycle-borne men opened fire and robbed the bag containing cash. The public chased the robbers but the assailants threw some cash bundles to divert the attention and fled away.
The Delhi Police Commissioner had earlier declared a reward of Rs 25,000 on the offenders.
Police on May 25 received specific inputs as to how two persons involved in a bank robbery were to reach RMS office near Nizammudin Railway Station with the bag. Police later laid a trap and nabbed the criminals.
On interrogation, it was found that Sudhir Parihar, an army deserter, was the mastermind of the case and wanted in several cases across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
Further, it was revealed that Sudhi alias Fauji had formed the gang along with five other persons who helped him conducting the robbery. The DCP revealed that gang members had conducted an extensive recce of the area and went to banks a number of times to target specific people with extensive cash. They had procured two stolen motorcycles, one country made pistol and one sophisticated pistol for the job. The gang members who used to go to the banks to identify targets are Indian Railway employees.
