With the time running out for the Delhi University online registration process, many students are still grappling with the basics of the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota.
Aspiring students are still under various doubts regarding the trials and the categories of ECA activities.
DU officials have told this paper that there are twelve broad categories to apply in the ECA quota. The categories are divided into the following categories- dance, vocal, instrumental, theatre, creative writing, debate, fine arts, digital media and quiz.
Students are confused as the University website has still not released the guidelines regarding the ECA quota, which will be released in a few days. "I wanted to ask if poetry recitation will be included in the ECA quota. I have won some competitions at school level. I don't know if I am eligible," said Shashank Mathur.
The students also had questions regarding the certificates needed for the ECA quota, to which the University officials said that only one certificate can be used for the registration process as DU will check all the certificates during the final screening process.
One student also asked if medal won in competitions are accepted, to which the official replied, "Only medals with name will be accepted. But we give importance to certificates." The students will have to give trials at two levels, preliminary and finals. The applicants will be judged by an ECA admission committee constituting at least two experts from institutes such as NSA and Faculty of Music and Fine Arts.
