Cops have arrested three members who, in a confounding manner, dressed as girls and robbed commuters on an isolated stretch in North East Delhi.
With the arrest of three persons, police have solved 12 cases of snatching and robbery in the area.
They have also recovered six mobile phones and even a stolen motorcycle. The arrested accused have been identified as Vinay, Abhisek and Arjun.
The modus operandi of the gang has raised eyebrows Delhi Police officers.
Cops said that the accused would dress up as women to catch the attention of commuters and later lead them to an isolated spot and rob them on gunpoint.
Police have recovered several women's clothing items from the possession of the accused.
The gang would first target unsuspecting men, send their members dressed as women to engage the targets into a conversation and then would send more members to overpower the victim and rob him.
"During interrogation, they disclosed that they committed crimes of robbery and snatching mainly in New Usmanur area of North East District," DCP North East, Ajit Kumar Singla told reporters.
