Just like an action movie plot, a female cop lured the main suspect by inviting him for a coffee and killed time till the reinforcement joined them. This cop, Kavita Mathur chased the accused, set the trap for him and finally got him behind the bars.
Kavita, the crime branch officer was assigned the job to keep an eye on Jayant Sahoo who was living in Green Park. She started following him from the moment he stepped out of the hotel. The officer in the civil dress was behind wheels and started chased Sahoo for a long time.
All this while, she made sure that the accused was not suspicious of her. Also, she was in constant touch with her seniors over the phone who were in her close vicinity.
Soon, due to traffic, the other cop cars lost Sahoo's car and she was the only one chasing him.
However, Jayant soon realised that he was followed and started making vague and random movements. Following this, he stopped his car and confronted Kavita if she was following him.
"I had a bet with my colleague that I will chase you for 60 km and I have already completed 32. So, I will follow you for 28 km if you don't mind. This is what I said and he believed me," said the quick-witted officer.
Jayant fell for the trap and laughed at this. Acting prompt, to kill time, she invited him for coffee.
Then, she took him to a nearby coffee shop in Vasant Kunj. Soon, she called her seniors and sent her location without making the accused suspicious.
Soon, the crime team arrived at the cafe and arrested the main accused.
