Two killed after DTC bus rams into auto, e-rickshaw

Two were killed and three were injured after a DTC bus in Azadpur rammed into a stationary auto and e-rikshaw outside the metro station in North West Delhi on Wednesday.

The deceased, Sparsh Rawal (15) and Devender (45) were rushed to the hospital where they breathed their last. The injured are currently undergoing treatment.

According to an eyewitness, the DTC bus lost control and crushed both the auto and the e-rikshaw that were stationed outside the metro station. "Sparsh and Devender were seated in the e-rikshaw," said sources. Following this, the pedestrians immediately took the injured to the hospital.

But, the cops are verifying the fact if the tyre burst happened before the accident or after the bus rammed into the stationary e-rikshaw and the auto that killed the two men.

Devender was working with Observation Home for Boys in Mukherjee Nagar and lived with his family in Mangolpuri. On the other hand, Sparsh Rawal was a student.

Soon after the accident, the locals tried hard to take the victims out of the mangled vehicles. After the PCR call, both the police teams and the CATS ambulance rushed to the spot. The cops had a tough time in pacifying the mob which refused to leave the spot.

"The bus dragged the auto-rikshaws and the e-rikshaw to some distance before coming to a halt," said one such eyewitness.

After the accident, the driver tried to flee the spot but was soon nabbed. One of injured has referred to AIIMS Trauma center.

"We have arrested the bus driver who has been identified as 55-year -old Ranvir Singh. We have booked him under sections 337 and 304 A," said a senior police officer.
