I-T dept raids residences of additional CEO of GNIDA

Acting against the bureaucrats, Income Tax department on Wednesday conducted raids at the premises of Additional Chief Executive Officer(ACEO) of Greater Noida Authority, Vimal Kumar Sharma along with his wife Mamta Sharma who is the Regional Transport Officer in Meerut.

Search operations were conducted at their various properties spread across Meerut, Noida, and Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. "We have received a total of eight complaints against the IAS officer, Sharma of accumulation of wealth beyond their known sources of income. Search operations are on at all the suspected locations. In Noida, the property is located in sector 50 which is undergoing our search operation to get adequate evidence of disproportionate assets. Similar probes are going on at their other properties in Meerut and Mainpuri," said I-T officials.

"Raids are being carried out against some government functionaries," said a senior I-T officer.

IT sleuths also conducted similar operations at premises of IAS officer Hriday Shankar Tewari, who is a director of the health department, and the special secretary for prisons Satyendra Kumar Singh.
