Food Minister conducts suprise visit at circle office

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain on Saturday conducted a surprise inspection of the circle office at Matiala, falling under South West Delhi, along with Special Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies Department, after reports of shortcomings and non-compliance were received.

Hussain directed a detailed inquiry into the matter and demanded an explanation from the concerned officials.

He also called for suitable action against the erring fair price shop owners, including lodging of FIR against them.

The minister directed that an action taken report be submitted to him within a week's time.

There is a circle office in each Assembly constituency in Delhi, which is headed by a Food and Civil Supplies Officer (FSO), and has one or more inspectors and other supporting staff.
