Five-yr-old's body found in canal, family cries murder

Six days after reported missing of a 5-year-old girl, the cops found her body on Wednesday evening in a canal in Gazipur.

"We suspect that she died owing to drowning," said cops.

But, in contrary, her family members alleged that she was kidnapped and murdered.

The cops are waiting for the post-mortem reports.

The girl went missing from her house in Gazipur in East Delhi on May 12.

After a thorough search, her parents were unable to find her.

After this, they approached the Gazipur police and lodged a FIR.

"We are still waiting for the PM report from the doctors. After that, we will able to reach a conclusion. Prima facie we suspect drowning to be the cause of death," said a senior police officer.

Though the police say that she died due to drowning, the family alleges that she was abducted and murdered.
