After a 16-year-old boy went missing a few days back, the Delhi Metro Police on May 16 rescued the boy from Ghaziabad.
Karan, who hailed from Jharkhand was a first time visitor in Delhi and went missing from AIIMS metro station. "The boy's cousin, Shyamlal, a resident of Yusuf Sarai, Green Park, informed the cops that his cousin brother went missing from AIIMS Metro Station on May 12," said a senior police official.
After rescuing the child, the cops instead of the legal procedures, first got him admitted to a hospital.
Following this, his family members were traced and after four days the child was reunited with his parents.
The case was registered under the various section of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at INA metro and investigation was taken up immediately.
"As the child was minor and originally belonged to the remote village of Jharkhand, we consider this as a sensitive case. He had come to Delhi for the first time and did not know the address of his family members," said DCP Jitendra Mani Tripathi.
According to the DCP, a team of four police officials was constituted under the supervision of SHO, Rajeev Kumar. Meanwhile, a senior police official was monitoring the entire investigation.
To look for the missing boy, police conducted raids and search operation at railway stations, metro stations, and shelter homes.
Eventually, the team rescued the boy from Ghaziabad, UP on May 16, 2017.
After statement before Metropolitan Magistrate and Medical examination, the child was produced before CWC, Lajpat Nagar.
"Further investigation, in this case, is still in progress," said a police official.
