BJP urges 70 percent reservation for Delhiites in DU

The leaders of Delhi BJP unit urged the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University to make 70 percent reservation or to provide three-five percent grace marks for students of Delhi during its admission processBJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma and the party MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday met VC Yogesh Tyagi and apprised of situations in which Delhi-based students were "disadvantaged".

"Students from neighbouring states are getting seats in Delhi colleges because of high percentage secured in higher secondary exams which are solely due to liberal markings, while Delhi students are unable to get through because of the strict marking system," Sirsa, the newly elected Rajouri Garden MLA, said in a statement.

Sirsa stated the Delhi students were forced to shell out large sums while seeking admissions in private universities in other states.
