Businessman killed, wife and son injured; manhunt for killers

In a case of robbery, a businessman was shot dead while both his wife and son received gunshot injuries after the miscreants looted a bag full of cash outside his house in Mansarovar park in North East Delhi on Monday night.

The deceased, Mukesh Singhal, died on the spot while his son and wife are undergoing treatment.

The CPS formed several teams to arrest the culprits.

Singhal ran a cold drink shop in Mandoli.

On Monday night, he was followed by some men on his way to home.

'They tried to snatch his bag,' said sources.

As Singhal offered resistance, he was soon joined by his son Saurabh and wife Sunita.

Understanding that the family will not give up, the robbers opened fire killing Mukesh on the spot.

Saurabh and Sunita were left injured. But, the robbers managed to flee the spot with the cash bag.

"The condition of the wife and son who are undergoing treatment in GTB hospital is stable though the incident has raised serious security concerns in the area where the businessman has been killed just outside his house," said sources.

The residents are in shock after the incident and all the businessmen from the area are showing heavy resentment after the gruesome murder of Singhal.

"This shows how police have failed to provide security and the robbers are daring to attack at home and even flee after the murder," said a local businessman.

"We are scanning the CCTV footage from the area and have narrowed down on some suspects.

We have some leads and would be arresting the accused soon." said a senior police officer.
