DCW helps reunite 3-year-old with mom

A three-year-old girl was reunited with her mother on Tuesday with the help of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) who got lost two days ago at G B Pant Hospital while playing.

The minor was found by the staff of the hospital who tried searching her mother but failed.

The staff then contacted the DCW for assistance.

The DCW team then reached the hospital and took the girl to the I P Estate Police Station and got a missing report registered.

The mother while searching for her daughter reached the same police station where the DCW team had registered a missing complaint in the evening.

The police then called the DCW team with the girl. She recognised her mother but the girl was not handed over as the mother had no identity proof.

The team then took the minor and her mother to the same hospital where the guard and a nurse were able to identify the woman as the girl's mother.

The woman then brought her identity card to the Child Welfare Committee where DCW had kept the little girl.

After meeting the due procedures, the girl was handed over to her mother by CWC.

The DCW chief Swati Maliwal mentioned the significant role played by Dr Swagath Vishwas, NursingOfficer Rakhi Kapoor and Fire officer Gurdeep Singh.

"Thanks to doctors and nurses of GB Pant Hospital who immediately alerted the DCW, went out of the way to locate child's mum. Kudos to alertness and sensitivity," said Maliwal.
