17 B'deshis held for fishing illegally in Okhla Bird Sanctuary

Seventeen Bangladeshi men were arrested from Okhla Bird Sanctuary for allegedly fishing illegally in the area on Thursday night.
Divisional Forest Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar H V Girish said, "We received a tip-off that some people are carrying fishing activities in the restricted area of the sanctuary and were spotted by the staff earlier also. Though they identify themselves as Bengali but the staff members told us that they hail from Bangladesh and lives here in Mayur Vihar, Delhi."
"We have seized fishing nets and fishes of Mangur and Rohu variety from their possession. We are trying to get the details of their mobile phones to nab the whole racket. We suspect them to have come up there with some other motive as the gang was always witnessed in the night hours. A case under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 has been registered against them," added Girish.
