In an unusual incident of robbery reported from Jacobpura area of Gurugram, miscreants who committed robbery at a chemist shop left a letter of forgiveness for the owner.
Addressing the owner of the shop as 'Doctor Sir', the robbers highlighted that the robbery was committed under extreme compulsion. The robbers, in their letter, mentioned the word 'sorry' nineteen times.
According to Gurugram Police officials, the robbers also seem to be committing the act for the first time. Explaining the modus operandi of the robbers, police highlighted that even though the initial plan of the robbers seemed to be to break the shutters and enter the shop, the plan failed due to their inexperience.
They then entered the shop by breaking a wall and robbed around Rs 1 lakh.
"We are in the process of investigation to find the people who looted the shop. Even though it is an unusual gesture by the robbers, the law has to take its own course and we have to catch the robbers and punish them accordingly," said a police official from Kherki Daula police station.
"It seems that the robbers were not experienced and may have just started committing burglary. They have even not stolen very big amount. As the robbers have written a lengthy letter of forgiveness, it seems that they are educated. It is only after they are caught will we understand the motive. Whether it done out of honesty or was it a clever act by the robbers to not allow the owner file an FIR out of pity will be revealed later," added the official.
"It is a cause of worry that not only uneducated youth but even the educated ones are indulging in robberies in the city.
Many of the youth start at a young age and by the age of 18 and 19 they turn into dreaded criminals. Interestingly most of them indulge into crimes for the sake of fun and adventure," highlighted a senior Police official from Gurugram police.
