Combative Tiwari calls for Chief Minister to step down

Reacting to former Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra's allegation, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party unit chief Manoj Tiwari on Sunday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the behalf of his party and people of Delhi.

Tiwari stated that the entire national Capital was shocked by the revelation. He further said that Kejriwal has no right to be the Chief Minister of Delhi anymore.

"The whole of Delhi is absolutely shocked by today's (Sunday's) remarks of Kapil Mishra. It's not an allegation but a statement of a witness," said Tiwari.

"It is shameful that a CM took a bribe from his cabinet minister," added Tiwari. He mentioned that BJP will take the matter to the investigating agencies.

"I must thank Kapil Mishra for the courage that he has displayed, even if it has coming a bit late," said Tiwari.

According to Tiwari, it is "good that at last the conscious of Minister Kapil Mishra has woken and he has exposed the corruption saga of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his coterie."

During a press conference, Tiwari said: "It is perhaps one of the biggest scam exposures as the eye witness of the Chief Minister's corruption is none other than his senior cabinet colleague.

"As Minister Kapil Mishra has said that Kejriwal has received Rs 2 crore in cash in his presence, under the law of land it is now a proven case of corruption against the Chief Minister," the MP from North East Delhi said.

Tiwari stated that BJP has been saying all this while that Kejriwal and his coterie is involved in land grabbing, land buying in unauthorised areas, money laundering and other economic offences.

"With today's exposé by Minister Kapil Mishra, the BJP's allegations have been proven right," Tiwari added.

"The Delhi BJP demands that Kejriwal should immediately resign and if he fails to do so, the Lieutenanat Governor of Delhi Shri Anil Baijal should examine the constitutional possibility of recommending dismissal of Kejriwal Government to the President of India," Tiwari stated.

To pursue the action, the Delhi BJP delegation led by Tiwari met with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, and submitted a letter demanding reference of corruption case raised by Kapil Mishra to appropriate investigative authority and examine the possibility of dismissal of the Chief Minister after this allegation.

BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said, "I will take this issue in the assembly and will also demand an explanation from Delhi Chief Minister."
