Cop jumps on van full of burglars, one held

The streets of Delhi was transformed to movie screen settings after a cop jumped to nab a man from north Delhi's Sarai Rohilla while trying to flee after committing burglary at a shop.
"The Police Control Room (PCR) staff saw a group of men running towards a car after allegedly committing burglary at a Patanjali shop in the wee hours of Monday. They were challenged by alert PCR cops and one of them was arrested from the spot," said Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR).

The officer posted the CCTV footage obtained by the PCR staff from the area on Twitter.

"The footage shows the PCR van intercepting a car. While the other occupants of the car managed to flee, one man, identified as Vinit (24), was nabbed by Assistant Sub- Inspector Mahender Singh and Constable Amit Kumar," added the DCP.

In the high voltage action, the burglars realized that they are challenged by the PCR staff. Soon, they tried to reverse their car but got struck by another car from the backside. Though some of the burglars fled the spot, the PCR driver jammed the van. Following this, a cop jumped on the van full of burglars and the accused was nabbed.

After searching the car, the cops recovered a wristwatch, a high-end smartphone, and two bags full of cigarettes and Rs 4,500 in cash.

"The accused told the police that the articles were stolen from another shop. The burglars used an iron rod to break open the shutter of the shop," said the DCP.The car that was found to be
stolen from Sultanpuri was also seized by the police.
