Deactivate accounts used to issue 'rape threats' to Gurmehar: maliwal

Delhi Commission for Women's (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal strongly condemned the celebrities and leaders who are actively supporting the attack on Gurmehar Kaur on social media. Further, the Commission also expressed its dismay over the shocking act of the Delhi Police for manhandling women protesters during the protests at Ramjas College. "Gurmehar Kaur has not said anything anti-national. She is only trying to convey that there should be peace in the universities," said DCW chief Swati Maliwal. "How does that one statement by Gurmehar (I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone.

Every student of India is with me) provoke every other person to attack her," she said. The DCW on Tuesday asked Facebook to deactivate the accounts which were used to allegedly issue "rape threats" to Gurmehar Kaur.
