DDA's plan to decongest Hardev Sahai Marg, Rani Jhansi Road

NEW DELHI: DDA on Tuesday approved a short-term plan to decongest Hardev Sahai Marg and Rani Jhansi road. "Stretch from Kashmiri gate junction to Northern toe of Rani Jhansi flyover includes the closure of two median cuts on Lala Hardev Sahai Marg i.e. at Mori Gate and at Rajpur road junction, U-turn below Rani Jhansi flyover and a back to back U-turn is proposed near the junction of court road," said an official.

He added stretch from Southern toe of Rani Jhansi Flyover (Filmistan) to Panchkuian T-junction includes removal of all existing rotaries and converting them into the signalized junction, closure of median cuts at Idgah Junction and Ram Kumar Marg junction to prevent right turn movement. Also, one-way traffic movement along the stretch of Faiz road between New Rohtak road and Rani Jhansi road is proposed.

Proposal for a flyover at the junction point of Vivek Vihar and Surya Nagar. "The proposed flyover will make road number 56 signal free from i.e. from NH-24 (Gazipur intersection) to GT road (Apsara border). This proposed six-lane flyover is connected to existing one near Shrestha Vihar Junction at southern side and near Vivek Vihar intersection at the northern side. In this option, up and down ramps are provided to connect this elevated corridor near Shresthra Intersection and Ramprastha intersection," said the official.
